Hi! I’m Roger Janik.. just a guy on a mission to figure out life.
A bit about me.. I grew up in a small cow town called Santa Fe, Tx. I had an incredible upbringing by 2 very caring and kind parents. My parents instilled in me a very strong work ethic along with integrity, pride and strong morals. I had a very good childhood and would not change it for the world.
I was raised in the Catholic church but never truly embraced it or had ‘buy in’ I suppose you could say. And because of my lack of interest in church in general I never truly embraced spirituality or a set religious ideologies.
But I’ve always felt within my heart and soul that there is a much deeper meaning to life than what’s on the surface and that there must be life after death. Oddly enough the thing that got me back into a spiritual journey was by reading several near death experience books.. the first book was called 90 Minutes In Heaven by Don Piper (which coincidentally happened in the city I now live in).
After reading several NDE books I then began reading books on mindfulness. Mindfulness is something that was never taught to me as a child or even as an adult and I feel as if it was the part that has been missing from my spiritual path. The most influential book I’ve read on the subject is called A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. This is what I call ‘lifes missing manual’ as it has helped me to awaken out of the matrix we call life and opened my eyes to so many things about this human experience. Are you awake…truly awake? If you are unsure what this means then I recommend you begin reading books on mindfulness.
Most of my entire life I have had calling to help others- to truly help those that are in need and hurting but I have never truly acted on this impulse except to do a few random charity events or donations to charities. I knew that down deep in my soul that this was not close to enough and that one day I should find a way to truly give back to humanity and to help the sick, the starving, the homeless and also people that may be ‘lost’ without any purpose in life.
This blog of mine has the ambitious goal of doing just that- of reaching out to the masses with words of advice, consultation, guidance and inspiration. I believe that a little spark can turn into a raging fire and if my blog can be that spark in someone’s life then I have done my job.
I do not have all of the answers and I will forever be a student of life, but through this blog I hope to listen and learn with you all, as well has teach and give back with the knowledge that I have gained and continue to gain each day.
Will you join me on this journey? I hope that you do. And I hope that together we can help this world become a better place to live before we make our grand exit.
