What does this statement mean to you? I wrote this but I’m certain others before me have as well. In my journey to become more mindful and awake, this statement just came to me one day.
Before I explain what I feel it means- ponder or meditate on this statement. Try to imagine what it means. Take your time..
Okay- I hope you gave it some thought and attempted to feel what this means to you. For me this statement represents the dualistic nature of our existence but it does not stop there.
I will explain. When I say ‘dualistic’ I am referring to the ‘I AM’ in this statement. ‘I AM’ refers to our creator, God, or from which we came- the divine spirit and the formless. Yet at the same time “I AM” also refers to YOU- you on this Earth that is in flesh and form. So you can read this 2 ways- as God stating it or as You stating it.
And why is this perfect? Because we (you) ARE God.. we are all God. We are all divine and we are all pieces of God and we can never be separated.
Of course this is also where duality comes in because currently living on Earth when you say “I AM” it is in the ‘form’ and God is ‘formless’.. so “I AM” is illustrating both the form and the formless at the same time.. but it is also a ‘dual’ meaning, which is that you and God are both the “I AM”.
Now on to ‘awakened’. To me this means ‘enlightened’. If you are deep into mindfulness, you will know what awakened means. And to me this also means your are enlightened. And guess what – so is God.
So for me when I read “I AM awakened” I interpret this as God saying “I am enlightened and I embody all things holy and divine”. If you think about it, Jesus was a divine entity living 24 hours a day as awake or enlightened. Most humans cannot do this.. we can stay ‘awake’ for long periods of time but it is nearly impossible to maintain this state 24/7.
And when I read “I AM awakened”, I also read this as YOU (me) saying this in the meaning that WE are all also divine and awake (or enlightened). One in the same!
If you are not yet deep into the meaning and understanding of being mindful, awake, and enlightened, this could be a bit difficult to grasp and confusing but once you begin reading and learning it will become clear that we are all ONE and cut from the same cloth.. so as God is holy and awake – so are we.
On the topic of us all being ‘ONE’ – I have another statement that has been entering my head lately.. and that is “As you are, so am I”. Think on that statement and what it means to you.
